One of the biggest dates in the calendar.
Cannes Lions is officially the International Festival of Creativity, now in its 73rd year, and is widely regarded as the world's premier festival for the creative industries. It runs for five days at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France, bringing together creative leaders, marketers and innovators from across the globe. This year it takes place from 22 June.
What makes it special is the scale and the calibre. More than 28,000 entries from around the world are showcased and judged across categories, including Design, Media and PR, with winners receiving the coveted Lion trophy, presented across four ceremonies throughout the week.
It's essentially the Oscars of the creative industry: the work that wins here sets the benchmark for the year ahead. But it's more than an awards show; it's where the industry takes stock of itself, debates where it's heading and puts the people driving it on stage. This year, that includes Oprah Winfrey receiving the LionHeart Award, one of the festival's highest honours, in recognition of individuals who've used their platform to drive meaningful change. And Creative Boom will be there.
